Hockenheimring

Originally built as a test circuit back in 1932, the Hockenheimring is one of the best known racetracks in Germany. The circuit is the home of the DTM, which regularly both opens and closes its season here. The Hockenheimring has been a permanent fixture on the Formula One calendar since 1970. Its list of prestigious winners includes the likes of Niki Lauda, Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher - some of the biggest names from motorsport's top drawer.

Since the circuit was renovated in 2002, the Hockenheimring has had a new layout. The long, high-speed sections have given way to a combination of tight corners and a hairpin in the northern sector. The capacity of the grandstands has also been increased to 120,000.
