The Automotodrom Grobnik is located in the mountains above Rijeka, in the Kvarner region, on the Adriatic Coast. The motorsport tradition there stretches right back to the start of the last century. The Automotodrom Grobnik itself was opened in 1978. Up until 1990 the track used to host the Motorcycle World Championship. The era of the Grand Prix in Grobnik came to an end with the outbreak of war in Yugoslavia. However, the circuit still hosts national and international car and motorbike races today.

At just over four kilometres in length, the layout is flowing but demanding and provides excellent grip. Racing teams throughout Europe use the track for testing, while the Automotodrom Grobnik also organises regular track days.
