Asia is currently experiencing a motorsport boom, and acts as a model for the future despite the region not having a long motorsport tradition. Japanese motor manufacturers have successfully contested various two- and four-wheel motorsport events for many decades, with the country also hosting a number of world championship rounds. However, more and more international series are discovering the rest of the Asian continent.

In Asia, enthusiasm for motorsport has grown in leaps and bounds, with world championship rounds and legs of other important series now hosted by various countries, including Japan, Malaysia, China, Singapore, India, South Korea, Indonesia, Turkey, and, of course, Gulf States such as Qatar, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain with their state-of-the-art facilities.
