Continent

The Fifth Continent has a long and proud motorsport tradition, with names such as Bruce McLaren, Denis Hulme, Jack Brabham and Mark Webber being instantly recognised by motorsport fans across the world. Australian Brabham and New Zealand's McLaren founded British-based Formula 1 teams during their own driving careers. Motorcycling world champions Troy Bayliss, Troy Corser and Casey Stoner also hail from the region.

Top level motorsport regularly gathers in the South Pacific rim: Melbourne hosts one of the highlights of the Formula 1 calendar, while Phillip Island is a fixture on both the MotoGP and the Superbike World Championship calendars.
