Malaysia

When it comes to motorsport in Malaysia, most people think of the Sepang International Circuit, which is a venue for both Formula One and MotoGP. However, the Johor Circuit and the Shah Alam Circuit, which hosted the Malaysian Grand Prix back in the 1960s, also attest to the country's long motorsport history.
This history continued in 2010 when Malaysian Tony Fernandes entered Formula One scene to reintroduce the iconic name of Lotus to the pinnacle of motorsport. This commitment was also supported by the Malaysian government and is evidence of the increasing importance of motorsport in the country in Southeast Asia.
