Chicagoland Speedway is a 1.5-mile tri-oval situated southwest of Chicago in Joliet, Illinois. The speedway was opened in 2001, and soon thereafter hosted some of North America's most important racing series, with NASCAR currently making regular visits. IndyCar enjoyed some of its closest finishes on the Chicagoland Speedway in its history until 2010.

A lighting system was installed in 2008. A host of other motorsport series beside NASCAR's Sprint Cup, Nationwide Series and World Truck Series regularly feature at the circuit.
