Michigan International Speedway is situated near Brooklyn in southeast Michigan, with its main attraction being two-mile D-oval opened in 1968. The Michigan International Speedway is a fixture on the NASCAR Series calendar, and is the fastest circuit raced by NASCAR due to its wide extended corners and long straights.

The speedway complex also incorporates two road courses which are regularly hired by motor manufacturers and component suppliers for testing purposes. These are designed to be combined with the D-oval to provide various layouts. In addition to NASCAR, ARCA stages races at the speedway, which also offers year-round driving school activities.
