Firebird International Raceway consists of a drag strip and a traditional road course. Situated on the Interstate 10 just 15 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the circuit, opened in 1983, is easily accessible.

For many years FIR has been a popular test venue for IndyCar and hot rod teams. Easy access and Arizona's superb climate permit the circuit to be used throughout the year. It hosted a round of the legendary IMSA GT Series in 1987.
