The Castle Combe Circuit is located in the British county of Wiltshire, 32 kilometres (20 miles) from Bristol. The circuit was built on the site of a former military airfield in 1950, making it the second oldest racetrack in Great Britain after Silverstone. Up to the 1990s, big names including Stirling Moss, Colin Chapman, John Surtees, Nigel Mansell, Ayrton Senna and David Coulthard regularly thrilled fans at Castle Combe.

At the end of the 1990s, the circuit was the subject of extensive renovations following a serious accident: two chicanes were added to what was a fast and flowing layout. Despite the changes, the track is still one of the fastest in England. Nowadays, the Castle Combe Circuit hosts smaller national racing series, while TV shows including "Top Gear" can often be found filming at the circuit.
