The Circuito de Braga is also known as Circuito Vasco Samiero, and is situated near Braga in northern Portugal, approximately 60 kilometers north of Porto. The approximately three-kilometer circuit was built on the runways of the regional airport in 1990. It complies with FIA Grade 3 license requirements, and hosts mainly national car and motorcycle races. Its first international event, a FIA European Touring Car Cup round, was staged in 2009. The kart facility alongside the main circuit was built specifically for the karting world championship.
