Ireland's only permanent circuit has been substantially redeveloped since its establishment in 1968, with the last major investment programme in the late 1990s upgrading the facility into a full international venue. A starring role in video games has ensured cult status for the privately-owned Mondello Park Circuit with semi-cult status.

The circuit plays host to various racing series, but is also available for private activities, while racing cars may be rented on-site. The Mondello Park facility also encompasses an extensive off-road track, and a motorsport museum displaying primarily rally cars.
