Road America is an iconic American circuit brimming with motorsport history, located near Elkhart Lake in Wisconsin, not far from Lake Michigan. For over 50 years races have been run at Road America, which is one of the few remaining street circuits in the world to have retained its original layout. Its characteristic features are a long, fast start/finish straight and "The Kink", a notorious corner in the rear section of the circuit. A continuously undulating track adds to the diverse range of challenges faced by drivers on this circuit.

Crowds of over 100,000 regularly flock to the site's open spaces to watch major motorsport events, including the American Le Mans Series and stock car races. The conscious decision not to install permanent seating allows the public to move about freely and either take advantage of the various stands dotted around the site or use the hills as viewpoints. The public are heavily involved in events on the track, underlining the nostalgic flair of this classic North American circuit.
