Milwaukee Mile in West Allis, Wisconsin is the oldest active speedway in the world, the one-mile venue having opened in 1903 and hosted at least one race per annum ever since. The original circuit had a loose surface, which was asphalted in 1954. NASCAR, Indy Racing League and ChampCar Series all staged events here, as did the American Automobile Association and United States Automobile Club.

Motorsport history has oft been recorded at Milwaukee Mile, although recent years have been rather quieter for the classic venue. Efforts to attract headline motorsport events back to the 'Mile' have borne fruit: In 2011 the IndyCar Series returned to the oval as part of the Milwaukee Indy Fest promoted by Michael Andretti.
