Linköping lies in southern Sweden, approximately 200 kilometers south west of Stockholm. The Motorstadion is a multi-faceted complex for various forms of motorsport, including circuit racing, motocross, speedway, enduro, trials, rally and karting. The racetrack has a length of two kilometres, and was built in 1967. It was used solely for motorcycle racing until 1998, after which various upgrade programs made it suitable for smaller single-seater categories and sports car racing.
