The Guangdong International Circuit was opened as recently as 2009 and, alongside Zhuhai, is the second permanent racetrack in the coastal province of Guangdong in the south-east of China. The circuit was designed by Chinese architect Qiming Yao. The fascinating layout includes two very long straights, linked by a very quick combination of corners and a hairpin bend.

Important events held at the circuit include various Asian touring car championships and the Chinese Superbike series.
